In Turkey, there is not a law that protects trans people and other LGBI people; violation of rights, discrimination, violence and hate crimes are very prevalent. Informing the public and authorities about these violations and problems is very crucial for advocating changes in law and politics in order to create strategies with reliable data.

Trans women cannot access to justice and their right to health, and they confront with troublesome issues in their education and working lives. The situation of not being able to access economic rights may push trans women to sex industry. Even though when a trans woman is employed, her gender identity might cause to being subjected negative attitudes and misbehavior.

We hope that presenting trans women’s experiences with data leads these problems to become more visible, so policymakers could be informed and trans people can gain recognition in every aspect of life. Also this could be a step for decreasing discrimination against trans people in the working life.
